The Rocket League Championship Series (RLCS) Raleigh Major is scheduled to take place at the Lenovo Center from June 26-29. This event will feature top Rocket League teams competing for a share of a $351,000 prize pool. Greater Raleigh, home to Epic Games, the owner and publisher of Rocket League, serves as an appropriate location for this esports event.

BLAST has partnered with Visit Raleigh for the RLCS Raleigh Major. This marks the first time Rocket League esports will be held in North Carolina’s capital and the second major esports event BLAST has organized in Greater Raleigh. The partnership includes integrating Visit Raleigh into the event’s broadcast and on-site branding.

James Woollard, director of market development at BLAST, said, “The RLCS Raleigh Major is a landmark event for Rocket League and for the destination. Partnering with Visit Raleigh allows us to truly showcase the region’s appeal to a global audience.” Loren Gold, executive vice president at Visit Raleigh, added that Greater Raleigh’s vibrant scenes make it a natural fit for premier events.

Hosting such events provides exposure on a global stage and boosts the local economy. With 60 percent of fans expected to travel from outside the city, the RLCS Raleigh Major is projected to generate over $6 million in economic impact through tourism and fan spending.

This partnership aligns with Greater Raleigh’s vision for esports development. The Lenovo Center will undergo renovations this summer to modernize its amenities. Greater Raleigh aims to foster growth in esports by supporting local tournaments and investing in gaming spaces.

BLAST is known for its high production quality in esports events and works with game publishers like Epic Games and Valve. Visit Raleigh promotes Wake County as an attractive travel destination, welcoming millions of visitors annually.
