Tricia Cotham, a Republican member of the North Carolina State House representing the 105th district since 2025, used her social media platform to comment on legislative developments and express opinions regarding criminal justice reform.

On November 29, 2025, Cotham posted her support for recent legislation she sponsored, stating, “Proud to have Sponsored #IrynasLaw. Utterly disgusting that these Dems are more worried about where violent criminals will sleep. I’ll worry about how the families of the victims sleep at night rather than if the heinous killers are comfortable enough. #ncpol #shameful”.

Later that evening, on November 30, 2025, Cotham made another post with a brief remark: “Smart dude. “.

On December 1, 2025, she announced the enactment of new legislation with the message: “Results. #ncpol
#Iryna law is official today!”

Cotham was elected to her seat in the North Carolina State House in 2025 after replacing Wesley Harris as representative for District 105. Her posts reference “Iryna’s Law,” which she both sponsored and celebrated as becoming official law in early December.
