RALEIGH, N.C. – The voting results for the 2024-25 Frank J. Selke Trophy were released on Monday, revealing that three players from the Carolina Hurricanes finished in the top 20. The award, which is given annually to the forward who excels defensively, saw Jordan Staal, Seth Jarvis, and Sebastian Aho receiving votes from the Professional Hockey Writers’ Association.
Aleksander Barkov of the Florida Panthers was named the winner of the trophy for a second consecutive season. Among the Hurricanes players, Staal received five first-place votes while Jarvis received two. Notably, Carolina was the only team with three players finishing within the top 20 in voting.
The Hurricanes have previously secured this accolade twice in their history when Rod Brind’Amour won it in both 2006 and 2007.
