Today, Governor Josh Stein announced the state’s initiative to offer rewards for information related to two separate murder investigations in Guilford County. A reward of up to $25,000 is available for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the individual(s) responsible for the murder of John Boone. Additionally, a similar reward is being offered for the case of Jakaylen Chambers.
John Boone, aged 49, was found dead from a gunshot wound on January 26, 2022, near the intersection of Lakewood Drive and Futrelle Drive in High Point. Notably, Mr. Boone was deaf and non-verbal. Jakaylen Chambers, just 14 years old, was discovered with a gunshot wound on February 1, 2022, after officers responded to a shooting on McPherson Street in Greensboro. He was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital.
