Wake County's health equity initiative, HealthLit4Wake, is set to resume its Ask the Doc: A Wake County Town Hall series for 2025. This program aims to provide residents with direct access to medical experts and vital health information.

The first event in this quarterly series, titled "Pregunte Al Doc: Navigating Primary Healthcare," is scheduled for Wednesday, March 26, from 11 a.m. to noon at the Mexican Consulate located at 431 Raleigh View Road, Raleigh. The session will be conducted entirely in Spanish to ensure that Wake County's Spanish-speaking community can access crucial healthcare guidance.

“These town halls are an important step in making sure every resident, regardless of language or background, has access to the information and resources they need to stay healthy,” stated Wake County Commissioner Cheryl Stallings. “By hosting sessions in various locations and in multiple languages, we’re breaking down barriers and making county services more inclusive.”

The event is organized in collaboration with El Centro Hispano, The Mexican Consulate, and Ventanilla de Salud.

The Ask the Doc series will continue throughout the year with discussions led by experts in English and Arabic on topics relevant to Wake County residents. Information about future events will be available at wake.gov/AsktheDoc.

Ask the Doc began in 2021 during COVID-19 as a virtual platform for public interaction with health professionals. It has since transitioned to in-person events aimed at reaching vulnerable residents. Hosted quarterly, each session includes a panel of local medical professionals who offer their expertise and engage with residents on pressing health concerns.
