Wake County Sheriff's Office leads operation against drug traffickers

A collaborative effort led by the Wake County Sheriff's Office has resulted in the arrest of 17 individuals as part of a comprehensive operation targeting drug traffickers. This initiative, involving several law enforcement agencies, aimed to dismantle drug trafficking activities within the county.

The operation was executed with the cooperation of various agencies including the Drug Enforcement Administration, US Marshals Service, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, State Bureau of Investigation, Wake County District Attorney’s Office, Raleigh Police Department, Wake Forest Police Department, Franklin County Sheriff’s Office and the Henderson Police Department. The coordinated efforts led to multiple arrests and the confiscation of illegal drugs and firearms.

Sheriff Willie Rowe emphasized the commitment of his team in addressing crime: “Our deputies and investigators remain committed to holding repeat offenders accountable and keeping dangerous drugs off our streets,” he stated. He further acknowledged the support from partnering agencies: “This operation is another example of the hard work and dedication of our team. We are thankful for our partnering law enforcement agencies for helping us pursue those who jeopardize the safety of our communities.”
