The Carolina Hurricanes achieved a 7-4 victory against the Columbus Blue Jackets, led by Seth Jarvis' first career four-point game and Sebastian Aho's three-point performance. The team has now won four consecutive games, their longest streak since October-November 2024.
Initially trailing 2-0 after the first period, the Hurricanes responded with five consecutive goals in the second period. Seth Jarvis initiated scoring on a power play, followed by goals from Eric Robinson, Jackson Blake, and Jordan Martinook. Jesperi Kotkaniemi added another goal in the third period to secure the win, while Jarvis capped off his night with an empty-net goal.
Frederik Andersen recorded his 300th career win with 18 saves on 22 shots. This marks six multi-goal comebacks for Carolina this season, tying them with Seattle and Washington for most in the NHL.
Head Coach Rod Brind'Amour commented on their response to early setbacks: "Actually, in a situation like that where it was not a good start and really it was just bad mental breakdowns on the goals, I don't have to say anything."
Seth Jarvis described the second period as a rollercoaster of emotions but praised his team's composure: "It's a range of emotions, but I think we did a good job staying level-headed."
Jesperi Kotkaniemi highlighted recent team improvements: "I think we've had a couple of good games here lately and we've started to look like (ourselves) again."
Frederik Andersen reflected on reaching his milestone: "It makes a long season a little bit more memorable."
The Hurricanes will practice before traveling to Long Island for their next game against the Islanders on Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
