Today, Governor Josh Stein announced the appointment of Thomas Anglim as District Attorney for Prosecutorial District Two. This district includes Beaufort, Hyde, Martin, Tyrell, and Washington counties. Anglim will replace Seth H. Edwards, who has been elected as a Superior Court judge.

“Tom currently serves as the Chief Assistant District Attorney in District Two, and he brings decades of prosecutorial experience to the role,” stated Governor Josh Stein. “I am grateful for his willingness to continue serving the people of our state and his district as District Attorney.”

Anglim has a long career in prosecution. He most recently held the position of Chief Assistant District Attorney in Prosecutorial District Two. His previous roles include serving five years as a Special Assistant United States Attorney for the Eastern District of North Carolina and eight years as an assistant district attorney across multiple districts before advancing to Chief Assistant District Attorney.

Anglim is an alumnus of North Carolina Central University, where he earned both his B.A. and J.D. He is involved with the North Carolina State Bar and the North Carolina Conference of District Attorneys. Additionally, he has served as an instructor for the Basic Law Enforcement Training Academy.
