The Carolina Hurricanes are set to face the Colorado Avalanche at Lenovo Center in Raleigh, North Carolina, on Thursday. The Hurricanes aim to break a three-game losing streak with the game scheduled for 7:00 p.m. ET. Fans can watch on FanDuel Sports Network South or listen via 99.9 The Fan and the Hurricanes App.

The Hurricanes currently hold a record of 16-8-1, placing them third in the Metropolitan Division with 33 points. Their last game resulted in a 4-2 loss against the Seattle Kraken. In contrast, the Avalanche have a record of 14-12-0 and are fourth in the Central Division with 28 points, following a recent victory over the Buffalo Sabres.

Martin Necas continues to impress after being named November's first star of the month by NHL. Despite his performance, Rod Brind'Amour remarked that the team "stunk" during their last outing against Seattle.

The teams previously met when Colorado ended Carolina's eight-game winning streak with a 6-4 win at Ball Arena.

Rosters for the inaugural 4 Nations Face-Off were announced, featuring three Hurricanes and five Avalanche players who will represent their countries next February in Montreal and Boston.

Necas has been leading in scoring for November with notable statistics including 22 points over 15 games and leading the NHL with power-play points.

Goaltender Pyotr Kochetkov is expected to return as starting goalie after recovering from concussion protocol. Spencer Martin was reassigned to Chicago (AHL), while Dustin Tokarski joined as backup goalie.

Colorado has allowed one of the highest goals against but maintains strong offensive capabilities. Nathan MacKinnon shares second place in league points alongside Necas, while Cale Makar leads defensemen in scoring.

Carolina will look to exploit Colorado's weak faceoff performance as they prepare for their next match against New York Islanders on Saturday following this game.

Injury updates include Frederik Andersen's knee surgery sidelining him for several weeks and Jesper Fast being out for the season since August.
