Sweden has announced the inclusion of Felix Unger Sorum and Oskar Vuollet in its roster for the 2025 IIHF World Junior Championship. Both players are draft picks of the Carolina Hurricanes.

Unger Sorum, aged 19, will represent Sweden for the second time at this event. Last year, he contributed six points in seven games, playing a key role in Sweden's silver medal achievement. He was selected by Carolina in the second round of the 2023 draft.

Vuollet, also 19, has been chosen after participating in 23 games with Skellefteå AIK in the Swedish Hockey League this season. The left-handed winger was picked by Carolina in the fifth round of the 2024 draft and scored five points in eight games with Sweden's U20 team earlier this year.

The tournament is scheduled to take place from December 26, 2024, to January 5, 2025, in Ottawa, Ontario. Team Sweden will compete in Group B alongside Czechia, Slovakia, Switzerland, and Kazakhstan. Group A includes Finland, Germany, Latvia, and the USA.

Magnus Hävelid expressed optimism about Sweden's prospects: "Vi har höga målsättningar när vi åker till Ottawa. Vi har både mästerskapserfarenhet och några 'nya' som har haft en fantastisk utveckling under hösten."
