NC State duo exits NCAA doubles after quarterfinal loss

Gabriella Broadfoot and Maddy Zampardo of NC State's women's tennis team concluded their NCAA Doubles Championship journey in the quarterfinals. The pair faced UCLA's Theadora Rabman and Tatum Evans, ultimately falling 6-2, 7-6 (7-5). This marks the end of their fall season with a record of 14 wins and three losses.

In the match, Broadfoot and Zampardo lost the first set but made a strong comeback in the second set to force a tiebreaker. Despite their efforts, UCLA secured victory with a 7-5 advantage in extra play.

With this result, NC State's participation in both the NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships concludes for this year. Details about the upcoming 2025 spring season schedule will be released later.

During their run at the championship, Broadfoot and Zampardo achieved notable victories. They defeated Maria Berlanda and Lily Hutchings with scores of 6-2, 1-6 (10-5) in the round of 32. In the round of 16, they triumphed over Theadora Rabman and Tatum Evans from UNC with scores of 6-4, 4-6 (10-5), before meeting defeat against Kate Fakih and Olivia Center from UCLA in the quarterfinals.
