Gabriella Broadfoot and Maddy Zampardo from NC State's women's tennis team have progressed to the quarterfinals of the NCAA Doubles Championship. They secured their place with a 6-4, 4-6 (10-5) victory over Theadora Rabman and Tatum Evans from UNC. This achievement marks them as the third team in NC State history to reach the NCAA Doubles Elite Eight, following in the footsteps of Alana Smith & Anna Rogers (2019, 2021) and Jaeda Daniel & Nell Miller (2022).
The match began with Broadfoot and Zampardo taking a strong lead by winning the first set 6-4. In the second set, they tied at 3-3 before Rabman and Evans claimed it with a 6-4 win, pushing the match into a tiebreaker. In this decisive phase, Broadfoot and Zampardo gained a commanding 10-5 advantage to secure their victory.
Their performance statistics included winning 72 percent of their first set points, 65 percent of second serve return points, and converting on 57 percent of break points.
