Jasmine Conway, a tennis player from London, England, has signed with the NC State women's tennis team for the 2024-25 season. The announcement was made by head coach Simon Earnshaw.
Conway has an impressive background in tennis. She reached the quarterfinals of the Junior Wimbledon in 2022 and holds a career-best WTA singles ranking of 580. Her highest ITF Juniors ranking is No. 80. On the ITF circuit, she reached the quarterfinals twelve times and semifinals four times, and was runner-up at the 2022 W15 Sharm El-Sheikh tournament. She also won four ITF Junior titles, including a singles title at J2 Kolkata in 2020. In Great Britain’s U18 rankings, she was among the top ten players and won the 2019 16U Girls Winter National Tour Finals.
"We were very fortunate to get a second chance at recruiting Jasmine this spring," said Simon Earnshaw, head coach of NC State's women's tennis team. "She's someone we've been tracking since the summer of 2022. Jasmine has the background and game style that resonates with our program."
Conway previously played for Pepperdine University where she competed in both singles and doubles matches, recording eleven wins and eight losses in singles play and twelve wins against seven losses in doubles.
"I chose NC State because I believe the program and coaches will give me the best chance to develop my game," Conway stated.
Conway will join new recruits Gabia Paskauskas and Mia Slama as part of NC State's efforts to strengthen their team for next season.
