The North Carolina Republican Party has expressed strong support for the initial relief efforts for Western North Carolina, enacted by the General Assembly. The focus is on ensuring that voters in the affected areas can participate in upcoming elections.

The party emphasizes its commitment to facilitating voting access with clear guidance on how and when residents can vote. This effort aims to boost Republican candidates in the November 5 elections.

Republican leaders are also committed to rebuilding efforts in Western North Carolina. The General Assembly has allocated $273 million towards this initiative. The state’s fiscal policies since 2011 have contributed to a reserve of funds designated for emergencies.

NCGOP Chairman Jason Simmons stated, "As I've talked to leaders across Western North Carolina, my heart breaks for everyone who has lost their loved ones, their homes, and their livelihoods. Through this tragic time, their resolve has never been stronger. We know they will come out to vote for strong leadership. They will come out to vote for common sense. They will come out to help President Trump Make America Great Again."
