Think Apex Day was created as a day dedicated to giving back to the Apex community by volunteering in ways that will positively impact the town and the people who live here. How will you give back and #thinkapex?
Think Apex Day is part of the Apex 150 celebration year and earns a visa sticker as part of the Passport to the Peak! Learn more about Apex 150th and the Passport to the Peak.
This year's event takes place on Saturday, April 29, 2023.

Below is a listing of this year's activities:
Note: "Groups” such as businesses, religious organizations, non-profits, schools, neighborhoods, civic, etc. are limited to 10 total people including the registrant. The names of all participants must be listed at the time of registration. No exceptions.
THINK REFRESH | Volunteers will refresh fitness trails and stations at Apex Community Park.
9:00 AM - 12:00 PM I Apex Community Park - 2200 Laura Duncan Road

THINK CREATE | Volunteers will decorate and stuff canvas bags with toiletries that will be gifted as "welcome" bags for new residents at a local senior center.
10:00 AM - 12:00 PM I John M. Brown Community Center (Gym 2) - 53 Hunter Street

THINK REUSE | Volunteers will assist staff at the Habitat Wake ReStore on the sales floor, tearing down and constructing shelving, receiving donations of building materials, and organizing items.
9:00 AM - 12:00 PM I Habitat Wake ReStore - 826 E. Williams Street
Requirements to participate in activity:
- Volunteers must be 16 years of age or older. Volunteers under the age of 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.
THINK EARTH | Volunteers will wage a “War on Kudzu,” a species which overtakes and smothers all vegetation.
9:00 AM - 12:00 PM I Apex Jaycee Park - 451 W. Williams Street
Requirements to participate in activity:
- Volunteers must be 14 years of age or older. Volunteers under the age of 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.
- Long pants, long sleeves, work boots, work gloves, hat or cap, and eye protection.
- If you have loppers or bypass pruners, please bring them.
THINK CLEAN | Volunteers will hand wash greenway and park signs, picnic sites, and other amenities at Apex Community Park.

Note: All activities are limited to a maximum number of volunteers. Registration for an activity will close when the maximum number of registrations is received.
The Town of Apex will be collecting food and hygiene items to donate to Western Wake Crisis Ministry. Donations will be accepted from March 27th through April 27th. There are three locations where you can drop off donations:
- Apex Town Hall (main lobby) - 73 Hunter Street
- Apex Senior Center (front desk area) - 63 Hunter Street
- John M. Brown Community Center (front desk area) - 53 Hunter Street
