DURHAM, N.C. – Most City of Durham offices, including City Hall and all non-emergency City facilities and operations, will be closed to the public on Monday, January 16 in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
Curbside Solid Waste Collections
• The Solid Waste Management Department will be closed on Monday, January 16.
• Curbside garbage, recycling, and yard waste collections will have a one-day delay with Friday yard waste customers receiving their curbside collections on Monday, January 23.
• The Waste Disposal and Recycling Center, Yard Waste Facility, and the Household Hazardous Waste Center will be closed on Monday, January 16.
• Live holiday trees will continue to be accepted for free disposal at eight locations throughout Durham on Saturday, January 14. Visit the department’s webpage for more location details and hours of operation.
• To sign up for collection day alerts and reminders for holiday service changes, visit the department’s webpage or download their free Durham Rollout smartphone app available in the Apple and Google Play stores.
City Council Meeting
• The City Council regular business meeting is re-scheduled for Tuesday, January 17 beginning at 7 p.m. in Council Chambers at City Hall.
• This meeting will be livestreamed on the City’s website; on the City's YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter pages; and on Roku, Apple TV, and Amazon Fire TV through the free Boxcast app.
• This meeting will also be televised live on Durham Television Network (Spectrum channel 8, Frontier channel 70, and AT&T U-verse channel 99).

Parks and Recreation
• Durham Parks and Recreation (DPR) administrative office and all facilities will be closed on Monday, January 16.
• The department will host an MLK Day Event: Celebrating the Legacy Through the Arts on Saturday, January 14 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at W.D. Hill Recreation Center, 1308 Fayetteville St. This free event will commemorate the life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Downtown Parking
• The Park Durham Customer Service Center will be closed on Monday, January 16.
• On City-designated holidays, downtown parking is free in on-street parking spaces, in some City-owned parking garages, and in City-owned surface parking lots.
• To check the Special Event Parking Schedule, where the $7 per vehicle rate goes into effect in the Durham Centre, Corcoran Street and Church Street garages 90 minutes before scheduled events, visit the Special Event Parking Calendar.
GoDurham and GoDurham ACCESS
• Sunday-level service is available on GoDurham and GoDurham ACCESS routes.

Durham One Call
• Durham One Call will be closed on Monday, January 16. Residents may submit service requests in the following ways, and staff will forward requests for City services to the appropriate department on the next business day:

o Use the free Durham One Call smartphone app available in the Apple and Google Play stores.
o Send a text to (919) 813-6315.
o Leave a message at (919) 560-1200.
Water and Sewer Emergencies
• Water main break and sewer overflow calls for service placed after-hours, on weekends or on City-recognized holidays should be directed to the Water Management Department’s after-hours emergency number at (919) 560-4344, which will dispatch on-call crews.
