Who:     Durham County residents (ages 16 and up), Durham business owners, Durham City and County government employees, Local, credentialed media representatives, Civilian Police Review Board members

What: Durham Police Department's Community Police Academy

Where: Durham Police Headquarters, 602 E Main St, Durham, NC 27701

When: Tuesdays and Thursdays 6 - 7:30 p.m. April 4 – May 11, 2023

The Community Police Academy is for those wanting to know more about the operations of the Durham Police Department. This will provide first-hand knowledge and front-line experiences such as Criminal Investigations and Forensics, and the use of force simulator will give participants the opportunity to be in the shoes of a police officer. The program begins with students meeting members of the executive command staff and concludes with a graduation ceremony for all students who meet the attendance requirements.
