Holiday Happenings to Make the Season Magical!

It’s time to celebrate the holidays with all our favorite holiday events! From November 23 through New Year’s Eve, you can enjoy as many as three holiday treats from Raleigh Arts Partners each week. Come out for some merriment and joy, as our community celebrates the holidays together!

Cinderella

Raleigh Little Theatre

Raleigh Little Theatre is remounting its winter classic for the 38th year! Cinderella is an evening of comedy, romance, and magic. With the Royal Ball taking place on Christmas Eve, Cinderella invites the audience to partake in a holiday delight and joy! Performed at Raleigh Little Theatre, 301 Pogue Street.

Carols of Christmas

Raleigh Boychoir

Presenting their 55th Carols of Christmas concert, Raleigh Boychoir returns with a program of yuletide favorites. The choir is made up of boys that range in age from 7-12, who not only learn the fundamentals of choir singing but also build community and leadership skills throughout their time with the choir. Performed at Edenton Street United Methodist Church, 228 West Edenton Street

A Christmas Carol

Theatre in the Park

Performed annually since 1974, Ira David Wood III’s A Christmas Carol is a musical adaptation of the Dickens classic. A story of how a miserly Ebenezer Scrooge has a complete change of character at Christmas, this homegrown adaptation is full of timely humor and over 100 local cast members! Performed at Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts, 2 East South Street

Black Nativity in Concert

The Justice Theater Project

The Justice Theater Project presents its annual holiday production of Langston Hughes's beloved classic Black Nativity as a special “in concert” version performed free of charge as a holiday gift to the Raleigh community. Black Nativity tells the story of the Nativity through gospel music and song, West African dance, and vibrant costumes. Performed outdoors at the North Carolina Museum of Art, 2110 Blue Ridge Road

Joy of the Season

North Carolina Master Chorale

Featuring the 180-voice Symphonic Choir, Chamber Choir, full orchestra, and Youth Choir, this year’s Joy of the Season will be a full holiday offering for Raleigh. Celebrate the season with favorites like "Silver Bells", "The Chanukah Song", "Noel", "Joy to the World", and more! Performed at Meymandi Concert Hall, 2 East South Street

The Nutcracker

Carolina Ballet

Carolina Ballet presents the timeless classic, The Nutcracker, this holiday season. One of the only productions to be performed with illusions designed by a world-famous magician, The Nutcracker will feature new costumes from a local designer and choreography by Artistic Director Zalman Raffael. Performed at Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts, 2 East South Street

Pattern Printed Holiday Cards Class

Artspace

Make unique holiday cards with Artspace and their “Pattern Printed Holiday Cards” class. This workshop covers pattern-making strategies, block carving techniques, and creative layer printing, allowing you to produce decorative images to share the holiday spirit. Held at Artspace, 201 E. Davie Street

Holiday Handbell Concerts

The Raleigh Ringers

The return of The Raleigh Ringers’ live, in-person holiday handbell concert will continue the tradition of a non-traditional holiday program! The Ringers will perform unique interpretations of sacred, secular, and popular music, including famous rock ‘n’ roll tunes, arranged just for handbells. Performed at Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts, 2 East South Street

Saturday, December 31

First Night Raleigh

Artsplosure

Raleigh’s New Year’s Eve celebration fills more than 20 blocks of downtown, offering entertainment for all ages. Festivities begin early afternoon and continue into the Evening Celebration featuring interactive art installations, drama, magic, music, comedy, and dance, before ringing in the New Year with the famous Raleigh Acorn Drop and spectacular fireworks show.
