The City of Raleigh is seeking your feedback on the South Park Heritage Walk and the Chavis-Dix Strollway. These two projects will connect historical sites in downtown Raleigh while increasing access and walkability between the parks. A total of $3 million in federal funding has been awarded for both projects through the advocacy of North Carolina Congresswoman Deborah Ross. Share your feedback about community design, public space, connectivity, and wayfinding now through Dec. 23.
The South Park Heritage Walk is a 2.6-mile cultural trail that connects historically significant sites within Raleigh’s Black community. The recently approved Raleigh Parks Bond will provide additional funding for the implementation of Top Greene Community Center improvements and other elements of the South Park Heritage Walk. Your input will help us prioritize design and implementation.
The Chavis-Dix Strollway, which is part of the Dix Park Master Plan, will be an urban trail in Raleigh that will connect the John Chavis Memorial Park and Dix Park. Your input will help determine the preferred route of the strollway that connects these two parks.
