General Information

City Council and other Public Meetings

In the Spring of 2020, the State of North Carolina, Wake County, and the City of Raleigh all declared States of Emergency in response to the COVID-19 virus.

The General Assembly has approved the use of remote meetings during the statewide COVID-19 state of emergency pursuant to Session Law 2020-2, N.C. Gen. Stat. § 166A-19.24.  The remote meetings of the City Council and the City Boards will be conducted in accordance with the provisions of that statute.

City Council meetings returned to in-person meetings on March 1, 2022.

Information about participating in City Council Meetings:

Other meetings of advisory boards and commissions are expected to transition from remote meetings to in-person throughout the Spring months. To see if a specific meeting will be remote or in-person, please review the information on its event page in our Events calendar.
