City of Raleigh recently issued the following announcement.

Weather

A wintry mix of precipitation is expected in the Raleigh area starting around 2 a.m. Thursday and continuing through Saturday. For a more detailed weather forecast, please visit National Weather Service - Raleigh.

City Services, Programs, and Facilities Impacted: 

Finance:

  • Revenue Services Payments Lobby - (located on the first floor of the Raleigh Municipal Building)
    • Closed on Friday, January 21, 2022.
    • Utility payments can be paid over the phone at 919-996-3245 or on the web through the payment portal.
Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources:

  • Parks -

    Weather Bound Program for Monday January 24:

    Raleigh Parks will be offering the Weather Bound Program on January 24, 2022. Need a structured place for your children to play when Wake County Schools are closed for the day due to inclement weather? Join us at our Weather Bound Programs.

    Weather Delays:

    Pullen Aquatic Center and Optimist pool will open at 9:00 a.m.

  • School Based Programs -

    Friday, January 21, 2022 are as follows:

    • Before School X-Press Program-CLOSED at ALL Locations
    • After School X-Press Program-CLOSED at ALL Locations
    • Track Out X-Press Program-CLOSED at ALL Locations
    • If you have questions concerning your work schedule please consult your supervisor.
Solid Waste Services:

  • Garbage, Recycling, Yard Waste Collection -

    Solid Waste Services has suspended curbside collection of garbage, recycling, and yard waste on Friday, Jan. 21 and Saturday, Jan. 22. Garbage and recycling with be collected on Monday, Jan. 24. Yard waste collection may be delayed for some customers this upcoming week, so please leave your yard waste materials at the curb until your area has been serviced.

  • Yard Waste Center -

    The City's Yard Waste Center will be closed on Friday, Jan. 21, and Saturday, Jan. 22. The Yard Waste Center will reopen on Monday, Jan. 24, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

  • Bulky Load or Special Load Collection -

    Solid Waste Services will not be collecting Bulky Load or Special Load on Friday, January 21.

Planning and Development:

  • Customer Service Center -

    updated January 24, 6:45 a.m.

    The Planning and Development Customer Service Center at One Exchange Plaza will close at Noon on January 21. Customers in need of support can call 919-996-2500 or email ds.help@raleighnc.gov.

    • We are always happy to assist you online via a development appointment. 
    • The Litchford Road office will be closed.
  • Inspections -

    updated January 21, 8:30 a.m.

    Due to hazardous road conditions, field inspections will be delayed until 10 a.m. on Monday. Inspections staff will contact all customers who need their inspections rescheduled. If you need to change the status of any scheduled inspections for today, please use the Permit Portal or contact the Customer Service Center at 919-996-2500.
