Public art public memory wake brt new bern college park

City of Raleigh recently issued the following announcement.

The Wake Bus Rapid Transit New Bern Avenue corridor runs through the heart of eastern Raleigh. This rapidly changing neighborhood is rich in history, facing the challenges of rapid development and seeking an equitable future. The artists commissioned for this project are charged with the task of creating artworks that connect commuters, different people from different backgrounds, with the public memory of this community.

This conversation with distinguished panelists living and working in the College Park area of the corridor will serve as a catalyst. We hope this conversation will contribute to the creative process and inspire public artworks that encourage thoughtful reflections and even more stimulating conversations about Southeast Raleigh.
