The Wake County Republican Party recently issued a critical response to the anti-school choice stance of Rep. Terence Everitt (D-35).
Everitt opposes school choice programs often used by those in historically disadvantaged communities who are seeking better outcomes for their children, the Wake County Republican Party said in an Oct. 14 Facebook post.
Yet, prior to being called out for the contrast between his position and his own choices in the education of his children, Everitt had his own children enrolled in a private school.
"Liberal Terence Everitt doesn't want your family to have school choice, and even opposed Opportunity Scholarships for underprivileged kids who needed help," the county Republican Party claimed. "Meanwhile, he sent his kids to an expensive private school... Hypocrite much Terence?"
The post states that Everitt's children currently attend public school.
However, the Republican Party post does not state when his children attended private school and moved to public school.
