The Soccer Tournament (TST) is set to return to Cary’s WakeMed Soccer Park from June 4-9, 2025. The event, known for its $1 million winner-take-all prize, will feature both men’s and women’s tournaments. This year, the tournament expands to include a 16-team women’s competition alongside a 48-team men’s competition. Each tournament offers a $1 million prize.

Jon Mugar, TST founder and CEO, praised the Town of Cary as an “amazing partner” for the event. He highlighted the region’s hospitality and support from partners like the Greater Raleigh Sports Alliance (GRSA). Scott Dupree, executive director of GRSA, noted that TST has quickly become one of the premier soccer events in the nation.

The event will host teams from 13 countries. On the men’s side, celebrity-led teams such as Pat McAfee’s The CONCAFA SC and Sergio Agüero’s Seleccion Potrero will participate. The women’s competition includes defending champions U.S. Women with Carli Lloyd joining former teammates Ali Krieger and Heather O’Reilly.

New this year is a collaboration between Cary and TST to launch the nation’s first 7v7 youth soccer tournament featuring Target Score Time. This event will occur in Cary from June 6-8 at various sports venues.

TST generated $9.2 million in direct economic impact last year alone. This year’s matches will be broadcast on ESPN networks in the United States.
