The Carolina Hurricanes have highlighted six games as key matchups for fans during the upcoming 2025-26 NHL season. The announcement comes as the team’s schedule and single-game tickets became available, marking a new phase in preparations for their pursuit of an eighth consecutive postseason appearance.
Opening Night at Lenovo Center is expected to draw the 118th consecutive sellout crowd, according to the organization. The Hurricanes will face an opponent they eliminated from the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs. This game also marks the first time that offseason acquisitions Nikolaj Ehlers and K’Andre Miller will play a regular-season contest with the club.
A divisional matchup against the New York Rangers is scheduled for the night before American Thanksgiving, which will begin a seven-game home stretch for Carolina. Team officials say this game is notable due to its timing and rivalry atmosphere.
The franchise will mark the 20th anniversary of its 2005-06 Stanley Cup victory with a special celebration over two nights at Lenovo Center. Many players from that championship team are expected to attend, and fans will have an opportunity to see the Stanley Cup in person.
Another featured game includes Star Wars Night against Dallas, where former Hurricane Mikko Rantanen will return as a member of his new team following a trade that brought Logan Stankoven to Carolina. Stankoven recently signed an eight-year contract extension with the Hurricanes.
Whalers Night returns again this season, coinciding with Utah’s first visit to Raleigh since adopting its Mammoth identity. The Hurricanes plan to wear their white Whalers uniforms, continuing a tradition that has proven successful on the ice.
The organization encourages fans to mark their calendars for these theme nights and promises further announcements regarding additional events during the season.
