On March 30, 2026, Senator Sawyer highlighted the significance of a new airport facility by stating: “The new terminal at Statesville Regional Airport is more than just a building — it’s an investment in jobs, economic opportunity, and the long-term success of our community. This airport is a critical asset for business development, emergency response, and connectivity in our”.
Continuing her focus on regional infrastructure, Sawyer posted on March 31, 2026: “As a Chair of the #NCGA Senate Transportation Committee, I remain committed to making sure our infrastructure is safe, reliable, and ready to support the needs of our region. The state’s $6.9 million investment will strengthen roads across Iredell County — resurfacing key”.
