Senator Vickie Sawyer, a Republican representing North Carolina’s 37th Senate district since 2023, has used her social media platform to address recent developments in infrastructure and utility concerns affecting her constituency.

On March 30, 2026, Senator Sawyer highlighted the significance of a new airport facility by stating: “The new terminal at Statesville Regional Airport is more than just a building — it’s an investment in jobs, economic opportunity, and the long-term success of our community. This airport is a critical asset for business development, emergency response, and connectivity in our”.

Continuing her focus on regional infrastructure, Sawyer posted on March 31, 2026: “As a Chair of the #NCGA Senate Transportation Committee, I remain committed to making sure our infrastructure is safe, reliable, and ready to support the needs of our region. The state’s $6.9 million investment will strengthen roads across Iredell County — resurfacing key”.

On April 1, 2026, Sawyer addressed public concern over water services: “I’ve heard from hundreds of folks across our community — families who are already stretched thin and worried about rising water bills. Carolina Water Service remains a major concern, especially when it comes to both water quality and the prospect of paying more for the same”.

Sawyer succeeded Jeff Jackson as state senator after being elected in 2023. As chair of the North Carolina General Assembly Senate Transportation Committee, she plays a central role in shaping policy related to transportation safety and infrastructure investments throughout her district.
