Senator Phil Berger, a Republican representing North Carolina’s 26th Senate district, posted a series of statements on social media reflecting on recent political events and public figures in the state.

On December 18, 2025, Berger praised former President Donald Trump’s impact on North Carolina, stating: “.@realDonaldTrump’s leadership is delivering historic wins for North Carolinians — more money in their pockets, getting criminal illegal aliens off our streets, and defending our rights. Join us tomorrow to help give President Trump a warm welcome back to the Tar Heel State!”

Later that same day, Berger commented on the passing of Gov. Hunt: “Gov. Hunt was a devoted public servant who dedicated his life to our state. His love and care for North Carolina and its residents were evident in everything he did. My thoughts and prayers are with Carolyn, Lt. Gov. Rachel Hunt, and the rest of the Hunt family.” The statement acknowledged both Governor Hunt’s service and extended condolences to his family.

On December 19, 2025, Berger highlighted his participation in an event marking federal recognition for the Lumbee Tribe: “Promises Made, Promises Kept! It was an honor to join Lumbee Tribal leaders, including Chairman @JohnLoweryNC, and members of our federal delegation to witness @realDonaldTrump sign the Lumbee Fairness Act into law. #ncpol https://t.co/PyBaGXL9rQ”

Phil Berger was elected to the North Carolina State Senate in 2023 after replacing Dave Craven as representative for District 26.
