Senator Phil Berger, a Republican representing North Carolina’s 26th Senate district since 2023, posted a series of messages on X between November 10 and November 12, 2025, addressing Veterans Day commemorations and state legislative actions related to border protection.
On November 10, Berger reflected on recent community events honoring military service members: “It was an honor to attend Veterans Day events in Eden and Madison over the weekend to recognize the service and sacrifices of our nation’s heroes.”
Continuing his focus on veterans, Berger posted on November 11 about North Carolina’s efforts to support its military community: “Today is a day for us to stop and honor the brave men and women who served our country and fought for our freedoms. It’s one day out of the year, but in North Carolina, we’ve worked tirelessly to be the most military-friendly state in the nation and to show our support for”
On November 12, Berger shifted attention to border security legislation. He wrote: “After President Biden left our nation’s border wide open, the General Assembly passed my bill, the “North Carolina Border Protection Act.” This bill seeks to ensure state law enforcement agencies under the control of Gov. Josh Stein cooperate with ICE. Of course, Gov. Stein”
Berger has represented North Carolina’s 26th Senate district since his election in 2023, succeeding Dave Craven. His recent statements highlight both his engagement with local veterans’ affairs and ongoing policy debates within the state legislature.
