Senator Michael Lazzara recently shared a series of tweets detailing his activities and accomplishments in the North Carolina General Assembly (NCGA). The posts cover meetings with law enforcement leaders, achievements in local governance, and notable interactions during his time at the NCGA.

On April 16, 2025, Senator Lazzara reported about a productive meeting with Jacksonville Police Chief Jarad Phelps and Public Safety Director Michael Yaniero. He mentioned that they discussed “key public safety concerns and opportunities to strengthen our community.” Senator Lazzara expressed his gratitude for their leadership and dedication to ensuring the safety of Jacksonville.

The following day, on April 17, 2025, Lazzara announced that the #NCGA Senate has passed a conservative budget resulting in significant benefits for Onslow County. Key points of the budget include the establishment of Onslow’s own superior court district, which Lazzara describes as “a big step for local justice,” and an allocation of “$2M to protect Topsail Island’s natural beauty and resilience.”

On April 18, 2025, Senator Lazzara appreciated the contributions of a Senate Page, Stefan Aragona, who served under him for a week. Lazzara praised Stefan as being “sharp, respectful, and eager to learn.” The presence of Stefan’s parents, Martin and Lori Aragona, during the session was especially significant, allowing them to witness their son’s commendable performance at the NCGA.
