Senator Michael Lazzara, a Republican representing North Carolina’s 6th Senate district, shared his recent participation in the NC League of Municipalities’ Town & State Dinner held in Wilmington through a series of social media posts. The event brought together local leaders from across the region to discuss community issues and foster collaboration.
On March 29, 2026, Lazzara posted, “I recently had the honor of delivering remarks at the NC League of Municipalities’ Town & State Dinner in Wilmington — connecting with local leaders from across our region. #ncga #ncpol https://t.co/qpyapt4AnK”.
In a subsequent post on the same day, he reflected on his previous roles and engagement with municipal leadership: “Having previously served as the Mayor Pro Tem of Jacksonville and President of the @NCLeague, I appreciated the opportunity to discuss the issues that matter most to our communities and hear directly from those working on the front lines of local government.”
He further emphasized the importance of collaboration between different levels of government: “Effective partnerships between state and local leaders is essential to keeping North Carolina moving in the right direction. Thank you to everyone who took part in a great evening of conversation and collaboration.”
Lazzara has represented North Carolina’s 6th Senate district since his election in 2021, succeeding Harry Brown. His experience includes serving as Mayor Pro Tem of Jacksonville and leading the NC League of Municipalities, positions that have shaped his perspective on state-local cooperation.
