Sen. Brent Jackson, a Republican representing North Carolina’s 9th Senate district since 2023, recently highlighted the state’s agricultural achievements and celebrated national observances in a series of posts on his social media account.
On August 1, 2025, Jackson marked National Peach Month by sharing statistics about North Carolina’s peach industry. He wrote, “Happy National Peach Month! Did you know North Carolina ranks as the 7th top peach producer in the U.S., harvesting about 3.6 million pounds of peaches annually? #NationalPeachMonth #NorthCarolina #SweetNCPeaches”.
Later that day, Jackson acknowledged National Dog Month with a personal note and photograph featuring his dog. His post stated, “August is National Dog Month! Whether they’re herding on the farm, hunting in the field, or curled up on the couch, dogs bring joy, loyalty, and laughter to our lives every day. Here I am with my dog Angel!” (August 1, 2025).
On August 3, 2025, Jackson turned attention to another state crop for National Watermelon Day. He posted: “Happy National Watermelon Day! Did you know that North Carolina ranks 5th in the U.S. for watermelon production, growing about 8% of the Nation’s 3 billion pounds of watermelon each year?!”
Jackson has served in the North Carolina State Senate since his election in 2023 after succeeding Michael Lee.
