Representative Brian Echevarria, a Republican elected in 2025 to the North Carolina State House for the 82nd district, has recently used social media to voice criticism of local government policies and tax practices in North Carolina.

On December 11, 2025, Echevarria posted: “They reject common sense. They reject parental rights. They reject the law. All while failing. #ncpol https://t.co/JoXH7tTfN3 https://t.co/BodF0FFR5N”.

Two days later, on December 13, he addressed property taxes, stating: “Aggressive property taxes cross every barrier to oppress North Carolinians. Rent goes up, homeownership becomes more expensive, and the economy loses that money forever. The only winners are BIG tax-and-spend local governments. You deserve better. #ncpol @ncspeakerhall https://t.co/p8pLJqw6jQ”.

Later that same day, Echevarria continued his critique of taxation with another post: “The tax bill arrives just in time to say have a Happy Thanksgiving, Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year but not too happy and merry. #ncpol That money is excluded from our economy. Economic growth suffers. https://t.co/CADM2tN4Fu”.

Echevarria succeeded Kristin Baker as representative for North Carolina’s 82nd House district following his election in 2025.
