Rep. Jarrod Lowery, a public figure known for his active engagement on social media, recently shared his thoughts on various topics through a series of tweets. These posts reflect his views on cultural celebrations, legislative actions, and national holidays.
On July 3, 2025, Rep. Lowery expressed enthusiasm for the concurrent celebrations of Independence Day and Lumbee Homecoming. He highlighted the festive atmosphere by mentioning traditional foods and activities: “This has to be the best time of year: Independence Day and Lumbee Homecoming at the same time. Collard sandwiches, grape ice cream, and fireworks! Can it get any better than this?”
Later that day, he criticized Governor Stein’s decision to veto legislation aimed at protecting minors from sexual exploitation and defining gender recognition strictly as male and female. In his tweet dated July 3, 2025, he juxtaposed this with North Carolina’s ongoing challenges in housing and energy affordability: “GovStein just vetoed critical legislation that would protect minors against sexual exploitation and recognize two genders: male and female.” He further commented on the governor’s priorities concerning sports participation policies.
On July 4, 2025, Rep. Lowery extended greetings for Independence Day to residents of Robeson County. He emphasized the significance of national values such as freedom, faith, and family in his message: “Happy Independence Day! Today we celebrate the founding of our great nation and the enduring values of freedom, faith, and family.”
The Lumbee Homecoming is an annual event celebrated by the Lumbee Tribe in North Carolina to honor their heritage.
