Rep. Erin Paré, a Republican representing North Carolina’s 37th House district since 2021, recently posted a series of statements on her Twitter account addressing political developments and property tax concerns in the state.

On March 16, Paré expressed disappointment over the outcome of a recent Democratic primary: “I’m very sad to hear that the Democrat establishment was successful in their work to defeat my friend Rep. Shelly Willingham (pictured here) this past Democrat primary election. Shelly is a true Democrat, but also thinks for himself and votes in the best interest of his”.

The following day, Paré discussed her participation in a PBS special focused on property taxes. On March 17, she wrote: “It was great to join Clayton Mayor Jody McLeod for the taping of a PBS State Lines Special on property taxes last Thursday. The special aired tonight at 7:00p.m.

The House Select Committee on Property Tax Reduction and Reform will meet on Wednesday to consider legislative”.

Later that same day, Paré addressed rising property taxes and their impact on various groups in North Carolina: “Time for the state to step-in and bring control to out-of-control property tax increases.

Seniors are getting pushed out of their homes. The American Dream has become unattainable for first-time homebuyers. Renters are feeling the pain of rising rents. Small businesses are”.

Paré was elected to her seat in the North Carolina State House in 2021, succeeding Sydney Batch as representative for District 37.
