Raleigh has been ranked as the fourth-best city in the United States for work-life balance in 2025, according to CoworkingCafe. The analysis highlighted Raleigh’s high percentage of remote workers at 23.4%, a median household income of $82,400, and a cost-of-living index of 97.2, which is slightly below the national average of 100.
The city’s appeal is attributed to its combination of financial accessibility and quality-of-life benefits such as short commute times and over 22 acres of green space per 1,000 residents. Although Raleigh ranked slightly lower in mental health metrics compared to some peer cities, its strengths in flexibility, affordability, and outdoor amenities continue to position it as a top choice for balanced living.
CoworkingCafe analysts noted that “Raleigh stood out for its high share of remote workers (23.4%), a strong median household income of $82,400,” adding that the city offers “quality-of-life perks like short average commute times.”
