Senator Michael Lazzara has recently taken to social media to share several legislative updates and achievements related to North Carolina. His posts provide insights into recent developments concerning driving regulations, support for military personnel, and the state’s economic standing.
On July 8, 2025, Senator Lazzara announced that “North Carolina drivers now have up to two extra years to legally drive on an expired Class C license — giving folks critical relief while the DMV works through staffing shortages and long backlogs.” He noted that this new flexibility will remain in effect through the end of 2027 and is applicable for in-state driving.
On July 9, 2025, he proudly shared that “I’m proud to announce that my bill — the Military & Veterans Support Act (Senate Bill 118) — has passed unanimously in both chambers and was just signed by the Governor!” The legislation aims to reduce fees, expand educational access, and protect veterans.
A day later, on July 10, 2025, Senator Lazzara highlighted North Carolina’s economic success by stating “For the third time in the last four years, North Carolina is the #1 State for Business.” He attributed this achievement to “strong, conservative leadership” within the NCGA Senate. The state has focused on cutting taxes, investing in infrastructure, and enhancing workforce training.
