The North Carolina Sports Hall of Fame announced on March 23 that First National Bank has been named its new banking partner.

This partnership is significant for the Hall, as it aims to strengthen its financial operations and expand programs for members and supporters. The collaboration includes both a corporate relationship and consulting support in financial and commerce technology, which the Hall says will help it better serve its constituents.

First National Bank will also play an active role in the Hall’s Student-Athlete Education Program by providing financial backing and delivering a financial literacy curriculum. Additionally, the bank will be involved in developing a statewide North Carolina Sports Hall of Fame Scholarship Program.

“At the Hall, we are very excited to begin a new banking relationship with First National Bank, which will enable us to offer our members and supporters new and innovative ways to financially connect with us,” said Johnny Moore, Executive Director of the North Carolina Sports Hall of Fame.

First National Bank was founded in 1864 and operates ninety-five branches across sixty-nine cities in North Carolina. It offers commercial banking, consumer banking, and wealth management solutions. The North Carolina Sports Hall of Fame thanked members of First National Bank’s leadership team—Brad Jones, David Edwards, Chris Moore, Spence Broadhurst, and Reed LaPlante—for their partnership.

The announcement reflects ongoing efforts by organizations like the North Carolina Sports Hall of Fame to build partnerships that support educational initiatives for student-athletes while expanding opportunities through scholarship programs.
