The North Carolina Republican Party (NCGOP) has issued a response following recent vetoes by Governor Josh Stein. The party criticized the governor for what they termed as “shameful, misguided” actions, specifically targeting his decisions on bills concerning diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) practices.

In their statement, the NCGOP accused Gov. Stein of revealing his true ideology with these vetoes. They highlighted two specific areas of contention: efforts to terminate certain DEI practices within state government and issues related to gender acknowledgment.

According to the NCGOP, “Gov. Stein’s true ideology reveals itself when he vetoes bills to end unfair DEI practices in state government and can’t acknowledge there are two genders.”

The conflict underscores ongoing political tensions in North Carolina regarding social policies and governance.
