The National Hockey League announced on April 16 that Game 1 of the Eastern Conference First Round between the Carolina Hurricanes and Ottawa Senators will be held Saturday, April 18 at Lenovo Center. The game is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m.
This announcement marks the start of playoff action for both teams, with fans expected to attend a series of events before the puck drops. Parking lots and the team store will open at noon, followed by a pre-game Plaza Party starting at 12:30 p.m. Arena doors are set to open at 1:30 p.m., warmups will take place at 2:30 p.m., and fans are encouraged to be seated by 2:45 p.m. for the in-house pre-game show.
Tickets remain available for all first-round games. NC State Head Basketball Coach Justin Gainey has been named as the celebrity siren sounder for Game 1. The Canes Cash Drop 50/50 Raffle, supported by Abrams and Abrams, continues into the playoffs with a current jackpot of $58,408.
Additional activities include limited-edition playoff posters sold by the Hurricanes Foundation on the South Plaza prior to Game 1; only 500 commemorative posters are available for $45 each. Mystery pucks related to this round will be offered before Game 2, while warm-up pucks can be purchased during every home playoff game near the West Priority Lounge kiosk. Concession stands throughout Lenovo Center will also offer special playoff cups and koozies.
