The North Carolina Republican Party has nominated three individuals to the N.C. State Board of Elections as part of the recent provisions under S382. This development aligns with the state law that mandates the State Auditor to appoint board members from lists submitted by the state party chairs of the two political parties with the highest registered affiliates.
The nominees from the Republican Party are Francis X. De Luca from New Hanover County, Robert A. Rucho from Catawba County, and Stacy “Four” C. Eggers IV from Watauga County. Their terms begin on May 1, 2025.
NCGOP Chairman Jason Simmons expressed satisfaction with the appointments, stating, “We are pleased to have tremendous individuals serving on the State Board of Elections and thank everyone who expressed interest in these crucial positions. These board members will ensure North Carolinians have fair, free, honest, and transparent administration of elections.”
The appointments reflect the ongoing efforts to oversee and manage electoral processes in North Carolina.
