Several news organizations in North Carolina have reported on the Republican primaries, focusing on candidates whose intentions appear to differ from established conservative reforms in state government. A political action committee called “NC Educators on the Ballot,” reportedly led by a registered Democrat, has been identified as a significant influence in this development.
According to The Blue Ridge Times, these candidates have expressed views that do not align with the official North Carolina Republican Party platform. Their positions include opposition to President Trump’s immigration policies, school choice initiatives, and tax reform measures. These stances are described as supporting priorities more commonly associated with liberal Democrats.
North Carolina Republican Party Chairman Jason Simmons addressed the situation, stating: “As North Carolina continues to move towards Republicans, some disingenuous bad actors now want to play games in our primaries. We trust that on March 3 conservative voters across our state will select Republican candidates who will support the family first agenda that’s made our state the best place to live, work, and retire.”
