Mike Schietzelt, a Republican representing North Carolina’s 35th House district, shared updates about recent community events and his reelection campaign on his official social media account. Schietzelt, who was elected to the North Carolina State House in 2025, posted a series of messages highlighting both local engagement and legislative accomplishments.

On December 2, 2025, Schietzelt commented on a local holiday gathering: “The 2025 Wake Forest Community Christmas Dinner is one of those events that makes Wake Forest a special community. It was great to share a meal with neighbors as we recognized some of the outstanding volunteers in our Town.”

Later that day, he reflected on legislative achievements and announced his intention to seek another term: “We’ve gotten a lot done this year: no-toll Capital Blvd expansion, safer communities, real reforms, and our ongoing fight to raise teacher pay. I’m running for reelection because we’re just getting started. Let’s keep moving Wake County—and North Carolina—forward.”

On December 3, 2025, Schietzelt confirmed he had officially filed for reelection: “Filed for reelection this morning alongside my best friend—my lovely wife, Carmon.”

Schietzelt succeeded Terence Everitt as state representative for the 35th district following the 2025 election.
