Mike Schietzelt, a Republican recently elected to represent North Carolina’s 35th House district, addressed allegations and praised colleagues in a series of posts on August 16, 2025.
In his first post, Schietzelt rejected claims circulating about two fellow lawmakers. He stated on August 16, “Which brings us to the current debate. Someone has put into the ether that @timreedernc and @CampbellforNC lied to their House colleagues? Nothing could be further from the truth.”
He followed up with another message highlighting the contributions of Dr. Tim Reeder and Dr. Campbell to the legislative body. On August 16, he wrote: “@timreedernc @CampbellforNC Dr. Reeder and Dr. Campbell are tremendous assets to the House with specialized knowledge that the rest of us don’t have. We may not agree on every issue. But they undeniably make our House caucus–and our State–stronger.”
Later that day, Schietzelt referenced ongoing discussions related to international licensure requirements, noting some frustration with editing capabilities on social media platforms: “International licensure provisions. Not sure why X won’t let me edit this one.”
Schietzelt assumed office in 2025 after being elected to succeed Terence Everitt as representative for North Carolina’s 35th House district.
