Congresswoman Marilyn Strickland posted a series of updates on November 12, 2025, addressing Veterans Day commemorations, recent actions in the House of Representatives, and the swearing-in of a new member.

In her first post that day, Strickland expressed gratitude to military veterans: “Honored #VeteransDay with the Thurston County Veterans Council.  Thank you to the veterans in the #SouthSound and across the nation for your service and sacrifice.” (November 12, 2025).

Later, she commented on Congressional proceedings following a recess: “After nearly two months of vacation, @SpeakerJohnson called the @HouseGOP back to DC. Not to protect health care. Not to lower costs. But to push a budget that will hurt millions.” (November 12, 2025).

In her final tweet of the day, Strickland welcomed Representative Adelita Grijalva after her official induction: “Representative Adelita Grijalva has finally been sworn in after a clear victory in September. Long overdue, but I’m happy to welcome her to the House. #218” (November 12, 2025).

Marilyn Strickland was elected as a Republican representative for North Carolina’s 28th House district in 2017 after succeeding James Langdon Jr., providing context for her current role and perspectives shared on social media.
