Congresswoman Marilyn Strickland has recently used her social media platform to highlight ongoing legislative issues and community initiatives, focusing on health care tax credits and educational opportunities for students.

On January 8, 2026, Strickland addressed the contrasting positions of House Democrats and Republicans on health care, stating: “.@HouseDemocrats have stood strong in our fight to protect health care. The @HouseGOP can’t say the same. Bring back the tax credits.” The following day, she provided an update regarding legislative proceedings: “Now it goes to the Senate, where the best outcome for the American people is to pass the clean, 3-year extension of the tax credits.”

In a separate announcement on January 9, 2026, Strickland encouraged student engagement through a new educational initiative: “CALLING ALL #SOUTHSOUND STUDENTS I am proud to announce the start of my Black History Month Essay Contest – grades 7 through 12 are encouraged to participate. Marilyn Strickland was elected as a Republican representative to North Carolina’s State House in 2017 for District 28, succeeding James Langdon, Jr. She has continued to engage with constituents on legislative priorities and community programs since taking office.
