Congresswoman Marilyn Strickland has used her social media platform to share recent legislative and community developments, including federal funding for local infrastructure, preservation of a regional museum, and commentary on ongoing national budget debates.
On March 17, 2026, Strickland announced the allocation of federal funds for a community project in Edgewood. She wrote, “Completing @CityofEdgewood’s Interurban Trail will make our community a better place to live, work, and play. Proud to secure $250K in federal funding to help get this project across the finish line and #deliverfortheSouthSound.”
The following day, March 18, Strickland commented on efforts to preserve a longstanding local institution. She stated, “This is what progress looks like. Last year I demanded that @SecArmy reconsider closing the Lewis Army Museum that has served our community for decades. Now the Army has agreed that we must preserve history. I will always be committed to fighting for our home and history.”
Later on March 18, Strickland addressed broader political issues concerning federal budget negotiations and immigration policy. She posted, “.@HouseGOP, enough is enough. The American people cannot survive another Republican Shutdown just so that @POTUS can fund his mass deportation machine.”
Strickland has previously held office as a state legislator. Elected as a Republican in 2017 to North Carolina’s 28th House district after James Langdon Jr., she has continued to advocate for both local projects and broader national issues.
