Congresswoman Marilyn Strickland has recently addressed several issues on her official Twitter account, focusing on federal policies affecting vulnerable populations, commemorating military service, and regional transportation developments.

On December 6, 2025, Strickland criticized the previous presidential administration’s actions regarding social programs. She wrote, “The Trump Admin is going after our most vulnerable – it has to stop. Good meeting with the Thurston County Developmental Disabilities Coalition to hear how continued attacks on essential programs impacts their work, and how I can continue to support what they do in Congress.”

The following day, December 7, 2025, Strickland posted a message honoring American servicemembers who died in service. She stated, “Today we remember the brave servicemembers who made the ultimate sacrifice. 84 years later, we continue to thank them for their dedication to our nation.”

Later that same day, Strickland commented on public transit infrastructure improvements in her region. She tweeted, “Proud to see new @SoundTransit light rail stations open across South King County to serve our growing region. The Federal Way Station is one step closer to bringing the vision of light rail from Tacoma to Everett to life, helping thousands of people get around the Sound Sound.”

Strickland was elected in 2017 as a Republican representative for North Carolina’s 28th House district after James Langdon Jr., although she currently serves as a congresswoman representing Washington state.
