Congresswoman Marilyn Strickland has recently used her social media platform to highlight ongoing discussions with communities and organizations from her district, focusing on federal support, workforce challenges, and educational opportunities.
On March 20, 2026, Strickland posted: “Even when I’m in DC, the #SouthSound is always on my mind. Thank you to the communities that visited me in my DC office this week. It was good to hear ways that the federal government can help our home continue to thrive.”
The following day, March 21, she addressed concerns regarding labor and diversity initiatives: “Skilled laborers are the backbone of our communities at home, but @POTUS’ attacks on diversity are threatening their success. It was good to meet with the Pierce County Central Labor Council to hear firsthand the challenges our workforce is experiencing.”
On March 22, Strickland focused on higher education: “It’s important to invest in the next generation of leaders, and that includes supporting students in their pursuit of accessible and equitable higher education. It was good to sit down with the Washington Student Association to learn more about their mission.”
Strickland has represented her district since being elected in 2017. She succeeded James Langdon, Jr. as a Republican member of the North Carolina State House for District 28.
