Congresswoman Marilyn Strickland posted a series of tweets on September 5, 2025, addressing topics ranging from federal policy to defense and local industry partnerships.

In her first post, Strickland questioned the priorities of President Joe Biden, writing, “Curious to see if after all the vanity politics on his to-do list, if @POTUS will actually lower costs…” (September 5, 2025).

Later that day, she commented on the role of the Department of Defense under the current administration. She stated, “The Department of Defense is meant to protect Americans and our allies. @POTUS’ ‘Department of War’ is telling us about the chaos he’s leading our nation towards.   READ: https://t.co/UtLzE7P3pl” (September 5, 2025).

In a third tweet, Strickland highlighted her visit to Vulcan Metals Company in Tacoma. She wrote, “With a long history of partnership w/ the U.S. Navy, @vulcanmetalscom is a steel foundry specializing in submarine material development. It was good to visit their Tacoma facility to discuss how the federal government can continue supporting workforce recruitment and retention.” (September 5, 2025).

Marilyn Strickland was elected as a Republican to represent North Carolina’s 28th House district in 2017 after succeeding James Langdon Jr., according to public records.
