Congresswoman Marilyn Strickland announced on her Twitter account that her bill, co-sponsored with Senator John Cornyn, to improve financial safety for military families has become law. On December 15, 2025, Strickland posted: “MAJOR UPDATE

My bill with @JohnCornyn to improve financial safety for our military families is now law. Years in the making, this bill reinforces our nation’s commitment to those who protect us.”

On December 16, 2025, Strickland addressed another issue related to tax premiums: “Promises were made and broken by the @HouseGOP. Time is running out to save the tax premiums that millions of Americans rely on.”

Marilyn Strickland was elected as a Republican to the North Carolina State House in 2017 and represents the state’s 28th House district after succeeding James Langdon, Jr.
